Program was developed for adults age 18 and older who need extra help and support making the transition from an inpatient program, or need a more structured alternative to outpatient care. To offer additional emotional security and motivation to these patients, PHP involves day treatment at the hospital, where the patient is engaged in four to five hours of therapy and works independently through guided journaling as they learn about the ten phases of recovery.
