Program is a home heating expense assistance initiative resulting from a partnership between Black Hills Energy and United Way of Northwest Arkansas (UWNWA).Assistance through the Black Hills Cares program is available starting on November 1, 2023. UWNWA, shall utilize available funds to aid needy individuals according to program parameters until funds are exhausted.Assistance is available for gas service bill payment.

Application process

Community members must call Arkansas 211 for screening and application assistance.

No fees.

Eligibility

UWNWA shall select beneficiaries according to program parameters. Eligible recipients must reside in one of the counties served by Black Hills Energy. Applicants must be customers of Black Hills Energy or Arkansas Oklahoma Gas. From time to time, Black Hills Energy may nominate special cases for assistance from the Program.
