Beyond Opioids

Program is a partnership between the two legal aid agencies serving the state of Arkansas. It provides free legal assistance to people impacted by substance use disorder (SUD) navigating civil, not criminal, legal issues. Although the grant funding is limited to rural counties, Legal Aid of Arkansas provides services under other grants for urban counties, as well. Services provided include the following:Family Law and Domestic Justice Orders of protection Custody Visitation Divorce GuardianshipPublic Benefits and Economic Justice Reinstating driver's licenses Health insurance (Medicaid) SNAP, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (food stamps) Sealing criminal records Employee rightsHousing Eviction Housing discrimination Reasonable accommodationConsumer Protection Bankruptcy Credit Scams Tax controversies

Eligible individuals include, but are not limited to: People in active use, treatment, or recovery Minors whose parents are in active use, treatment, or recovery People stepping in to fulfill familial roles for minors whose parents are in active use, treatment, or recovery Individuals harmed by a person at any stage of SUD
