Missing Persons Services
440 West Nyack Road, West Nyack, NY 10994
Program exists for the purpose of trying to restore (or to sustain) family relationships, by locating relatives who for whatever reason have become out of touch. Loss of contact may have taken place within the last few months, or many years ago. It may have been a deliberate break or otherwise. The department is sometimes also able to help in matters to do with identity and relationships. Successful investigations often bring a sense of "belonging" to those who have never known close blood-ties - restoring in them new feelings of dignity, of self worth and of life purpose. It is usual for a standard inquiry form to be completed in the territory where the inquirer is living. Absolute confidence is observed. The address of a relative who has been found is never disclosed without his or her prior consent. In certain cases, the department is, however, willing to act as a "post office box" until such time as the missing person involved feels free to reveal their address for direct communications. The Salvation Army reserves the right to accept or reject an application or to assign a priority to any given request based on reasonableness, feasibility and motive.

As appropriate NCMEC case management teams: Rapidly create and disseminate posters to help generate leads Rapidly review, analyze and disseminate leads received on 1-800-THE-LOST (1-800-843-5678) to the investigating law enforcement agency Communicate with federal agencies to provide services to assist in the location and recovery of missing children Provide peer support, resources and empowerment from trained volunteers who have experienced a missing child incident in their own family Provide families with access to referrals they may use to help process any emotional or counseling needs
