Provides instruction in the English Language

English as a Second Language (ESL) is designed to provide information in English and in learning how to cope in American society. The program offers group sessions for adults who are English language learners. Adults may attend Beginning, Intermediate, or Advanced ESL sessions of five to ten students taught by volunteer tutors or AmeriCorps Members. The class format is open-entry, open-exit.

ESL works in total immersion to increase the vocabulary and verbal communication skills of various students of the countries of the world. ESL classes also introduce students to the ordinary terminology of everyday language. Beginning students will also learn phonetic skills and how to read in English.

Adult Basic Education:Program provides basic academic instruction to adult learners functioning below the ninth-grade level.
