Provides volunteers to set up child care centers across the nation when there is a disaster. Volunteers help to calm the children and help them to feel safe in the midst of the chaos of a disaster. Since 1980 Children's Disaster Services (CDS) has been meeting the needs of children across the nation.

Disaster assistance may include financial help for temporary lodging and home repairs along with other programs to assist families recover from the effects fo the event.As soon as it is safe to do so, residents are encouraged to start cleaning up. They should take photos to document damage and begin cleanup and repairs to prevent further damage. They are urged to keep receipts from all purchases related to the cleanup and repair.NOTE: Application deadline is July 30, 2024.

Our hotline team is led by experts on the many issues affecting people with disabilities in disasters and strategies for meeting those immediate needs. Our team will respond to your call as soon as possible, often immediately, and we intend to respond to all callers within 24 hours.

Program has created a hotline to answer requests for assistance, and information about volunteer opportunities in response to the tornado/storms that impacted Marion County.A dedicated phone line has been arranged for people to call requesting assistance. If you need debris clean-up, trees removed, packing essentials, etc. Please call (870) 449-7567. Volunteers will be asking questions regarding what community member needs, contact name, address, and phone number. This line is also for any volunteers or volunteer organizations to sign up. Please have contact name, phone number and information regarding services offered available when calling.Volunteers will be answering this line 8:00am - 4:30pm, for the next few days. Voice-mail is available after hours. If voice-mail box is full, one can email [email protected] with contact information as well. Community members will be contacted as soon as possible.
