This type of assistance is provided by a personal care aide based on a beneficiary's physical dependency needs (as opposed to purely housekeeping services). The tasks the aide performs are similar to those that a nurse's aide would normally perform if the beneficiary were in a hospital or nursing facility.

The specialist will discuss the situation with the client right then over the phone and if needed will make an appointment for clients with a personal Care Coordinator. The specialist will schedule a time to assess the clients needs and determine the programs and services that would best fit.The personal Care Coordinator will work with the client throughout the process and may refer to the client to other resources and services as needed.

Program will not turn anyone away if a heat advisory is in effect. They are open during the daytime to the public so they can also serve as a cooling station. They serve snacks and coffee all day every day up until dinner time at 6 pm, so they'll have plenty of nutrition as well. In addition, they will still get breakfast, lunch, and dinner of course as long as they are there and have access to the showers, laundry, computer lab/library, and all staff members can help them get additional resources if need be.
